Dressing Stylishly in Europe Continue...

Brittany and I decided that we should illustrate the previous post by putting different outfits together for your viewing pleasure. Brittany and I both put together 4 different looks each using Polyvore. It's definitely a challenge to create a whole new outfit using the same pair of jeans, shirt, purse, and shoes. But we did it! And what's fun is that each accessory we used can easily be mixed and matched to create even more new looks.

Claire's Style Board:

I used stylish, skinny jeans, a simple black tunic, and a sloutchy black purse as my outfit staples.

You could easily create other outfits using the pieces on my board. For example: Put those fabulous yellow earrings with the black and white sweater for an awesome look that's popular this spring. You can also wear those cool Ray-Ban wayfarer sunglasses with the grey jacket which changes your outfit to a NYC-meets-London kind of a look...or I'm-a-Celebrity-in-Disguise look. Also, the simple gold necklace could easily go with the gold bracelets, creating a fun and easy-going look for hitting the pubs at night.

Brittany's Style Board:

Brittany's board is great because it really uses scarves which brighten up the entire outfits. She used great, every-day classic dark jeans, and a simple black top to be the canvas to her accessories. Wearing black and gray constantly in Europe, especially when the sky is equally as gray, can be quite depressing. Using a bright accessories, like that great orange scarf, makes you chic while standing out, as well as brightening your mood.

So in conclusion, if you're going to Europe and don't want to wear what most travel sites suggest (for example, those pants that can be zipped into shorts. Ew!!), add our travel essentials to your packing list:

  • Plain shirts in neutral colors that can transformed into many different outfits, and looks cleaner longer.
  • A good black travel purse that's big enough to carry maps and a water bottle, but can work with any outfit.
  • A good, heavy coat if you're traveling to northern Europe.
  • Sturdy, broken-in black tennis shoes.
  • And of course, lots of cute accessories!

And our final packing tip: Plan ahead and have fun with it! It's a fun challenge to see how many different looks you can make all within one carry-on bag!

Stay tuned for lots more travel advice in the upcoming days...
